Landon Pigg (born August 6, 1983) is a singer and songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee. Influenced by Rufus Wainwright, David Mead, Pigg composes songs with strong hooks and expressive melodies. Pigg released his self-titled debut LP on July 25, 2006. Early yearsPigg was born in Nashville, Tennessee. His father was a studio veteran and his mother was fond of poetry. When Pigg was a child, his family moved to Chicago, where he attended Grace Lutheran School. He returned to Nashville as a teenager and applied himself to more favorable interests such as algebra and chemistry. During his adolescence, it was his father who offered him informal music education and encouraged his curiosity with music. He also credits his mother for nourishing his poetic side. Soon, he showed his talent and began to compose his own songs.
Media coverageAfter having a song on Grey's Anatomy and going into rotation nationally, Pigg began a publicity tour in summer 2006 which found him booked on Conan O'Brien's show, Last Call With Carson Daly, and other media outlets, including a radio tour and appearances in Teen Vogue, Glamour, and Performing Songwriter. In late August, Landon appeared with his band on The Early Show where he played the first track from his latest album. His single Can't Let Go has recently been gaining frequent radio airplay, and comes preloaded on Microsoft's Zune portable media player.In November of 2007 his song "Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop" was featured on an A Diamond Is Forever Commercial. February 26th, 2008 he played his first show opening for Gavin DeGraw at the Common Grounds in Gainesville, Florida.
