Nicholas Rodney Drake (June 19, 1948 – November 25, 1974) was an English singer-songwriter and musician best known for his acoustic, autumnal songs. His primary instrument was the guitar, though he was also proficient at piano, clarinet, and saxophone. Although he failed to find a wide audience during his lifetime, Drake's work has grown steadily in stature, to the extent that he now ranks among the most influential English singer-songwriters of the last 50 years.

Liz Phair (born Elizabeth Clark Phair on April 17 1967 in New Haven, Connecticut, USA) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. Her signature guitar, which she is often seen playing (and is prominent upon the cover of her self-titled fourth album), is a Fender Duo-Sonic. Her album Exile in Guyville was chosen as one of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

The Human League are a British synthpop/new wave band. Formed in Sheffield in 1977, they achieved great popularity after a key change in line-up in the early 1980s. They have continued recording and performing with moderate commercial success throughout the 1980s and 90s and up to the present day.
